COVID-19: The NCTTCA scales down operations for 14 days
As you are all aware, the Coronavirus pandemic (Covid-19) is ravaging the entire World at an alarming rate. We however, wish to reassure all our Stakeholders in Trade Facilitation and Transport Industry that we are closely monitoring the situation and possible impact on our people.
Due to the upward trajectory of Covid-19 cases in four of the six Northern Corridor Member States and particularly in Nairobi, Mombasa, Kilifi and Kwale counties in Kenya, the Member State of Kenya (i.e. our host) has taken decisive measures and directed its citizens to adhere to social distance and residents to stay home or work from home. In compliance with this directive, NCTTCA Secretariat has taken a conservative decision to scale down its operations by asking staff to work from home so as to minimize physical conduct which is being touted as the avenue through which the virus is spreading from one person to another.
In this regard, our office based in Mombasa will be closed for the next two weeks starting from 25th March 2020. We will monitor the situation after this period and act accordingly. In the meantime, we have instructed our staff to work from home.
